Humans tend to have a huge greed for some foods, even chopping down all the rainforests for it, destroying animal habitat and contributing to climate change.
1. Palm oil
Possibly the biggest deforestation-causer. Unsustainable palm oil farmers will kill 25 orang-utans every day. They will slaughter the mothers and sell the babies for the illegal pet trade. But it's not just orang-utans that are effected by this. Unsustainable palm oil farming effects as many as over 100 species. And sustainable is very little better!
2. Beef
People also chop down rainforests to farm their cattle. This is why it is so important only to buy British beef (or cut down on cow products).
3.soya
what's genetically modified, unhealthy, vegetarian and causes masses of deforestation? Soya. Vegetarians and Vegans THINK they're doing good to their health and the planet when they eat this, but they're all wrong! A far better choice is to eat venison - this saves trees because deer damage trees and in the UK we have killed off the wolves who would control the deer population.
3. Almonds
Californian almonds are over-farmed and contribute to their massive droughts and wildfires. Almonds from Spain and Italy are a better choice as they are also more local.
4. Quinoa
Is a very trendy food. People used to farm quinoa sustainably for themselves. But now, because it is such a big thing, quinoa is over-farmed, and the farmers just eat cheap junk food. If you want to buy quinoa, the best choice is British grown.
4. Advocado
The recent popularity of eating avocados is causing deforestation in Mexico - and the Caribbean holds some of the most threatened wildlife in the world.
